Sonrisas Dental Health is a non-profit dental center dedicated to providing access to quality dental care and oral health education to our community, working to improve the health of our community members through culturally sensitive, integrated care, with a focus on disease prevention.  70% of patient visits at Sonrisas serve low-income individuals and we offer an income-based Affordable Sliding Scale Plan as well as accepting Medi-Cal. There is a waitlist of 2 to 4 years in SMC clinics for adult patients with Medi-Cal to have preventative dental care. 
The relationship between oral health and overall health is well documented.  We strive to help our patients reach and maintain oral health – something that is a struggle for many low income individuals.  We provide oral health screenings and care coordination for children and education for their parents, to help break the generational cycle of poor oral health. 

Our organization has to fundraise for every low income patient visit we provide, so the support of individuals such as yourself makes a difference. 

Donations can be made from the Friday before the service through the Tuesday following the service, using PayPal link https://www.uufrc.org/community/giving/ and writing “Share the Plate” in the memo line. On the Sunday of the collection, all donations, unless otherwise specified, go to Share the Plate.
