On February 21, our Share the Plate offering will go to Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. UUFRC members and friends generously support food security for our neighbors through volunteering time at the Yaseen at Nesbit Free Grocery distribution program on the 4th Friday of the month, and by providing home delivery from the Fair Oaks Community center to many home-bound or quarantined community members.

Financial resources also help Second Harvest purchase food at deep discounts and store, manage, and transport food to nearly 400 organizations in both San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties from Daly City to Gilroy and Pacifica to Pescadero. Anna Dyer, UUFRC member and Director of Programs for Second Harvest, will share some information about the community and Second Harvest’s response to the increase in need we are experiencing in our community as a result of the pandemic.
Donations can be made from Friday, February 19, through Tuesday, February 23, using PayPal link https://www.uufrc.org/connection/donate/ and writing “Share the Plate” in the memo line. On the Sunday of the collection, all donations, unless otherwise specified, go to Share the Plate.
