Share the Plate with Puente De La Costa Sur on June 16

For 26 years, the nonprofit Puente has provided essential services to Seniors, farmworkers, low-income families, and students (preschool through college). As the region’s only Community Resource Center, Puente serves Pescadero, La Honda, Loma Mar, and San Gregorio. Puente both advocates and leverages resources that foster economic prosperity and security, and promote individual and community health.

Highlights of recent projects:

  • In partnership with local farm workers and Coastside Hope, they held their first Farmworker Convention in Pescadero. Over 150 farmworkers attended the event. Committee members suggested the workshops, panels, and keynote speakers. They were also involved in outreach efforts at farms and ranches.
  • In alignment with the strategic plan and advocacy from the community, Puente is focusing on housing solutions for low-income families and farmworkers.
  • This year, they reopened their bilingual childcare co-op, Suenos Unidos/United Dreams, providing families affordable, accessible and high-quality for children 18-36 months of age.

Donations can be made from the Friday before the service through the Tuesday following the service, using PayPal link and writing “Share the Plate” in the memo line. On the Sunday of the collection, all donations, unless otherwise specified, go to Share the Plate.
