Worship Service at the Retreat

The UUFRC Annual (Family) Retreat at Monte Toyon is taking place this weekend and does provide some challenges for our worship service. Many of us will be at the retreat, some of us will be at home, and some of us will be visiting the UUFRC building. There are a few choices for those of you not at the retreat on Sunday:

The Worship Service at the Retreat will be from 9.15 am to 10 am which we are planning to stream on our usual worship link on the website therefore people from home can join those of us at the retreat for worship. Please note the different time.   The service from the retreat will be more informal than our usual service and led by Rev. Brian where we continue to explore the topic of Coping With Change.  The music will be provided by the wonderful and talented David Krevor.

For those of us who do not plan to be the retreat on Sunday then you have some options:

  1. Join the retreat worship service online from 9.15 to 10 am with the following link:https://zoom.us/j/99010773799?pwd=NjdJejV2V1VnTW9GV0piNjhSTnU4UT09
  2. Our Connections team and Ministry of Culinary Arts (MOCA) team will be at the Church building for fellowship time from 10.15 onwards therefore all are welcome to come for social connection and refreshments.
  3. For those who cannot get enough worship – isn’t that all of us – or those who cannot join the retreat worship earlier then we are invited to join online our sibling congregation the UUs of San Mateo for their worship at 10.30 am..  The link for this service is: https://zoom.us/j/92672285989?pwd=QjRMUXFFUWZucUhWeVNiZkNHQzJzdz09. The worship service will be led by Bill Heavlin of our Unitarian Universalist Coastside Community in Half Moon Bay.  Bill will recap Plato’s famous allegory of the cave, and its history in Western thought. He also reflects on particular unbidden changes in his own life with stories interweaving his mother, working career, a donut shop, and an on-going search for meaning.
