Pride is a complex word with both positive and negative connotations. In a negative sense pride can convey an inflated sense of one’s own importance and is considered one of the seven deadly sins. On the positive side, pride is where people feel affirmed as individuals and a community for who they are and what they have done. This Sunday on National Coming Out Day, we will explore the topic of pride, the struggles our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Gender non-conforming friends and family have had to overcome and also celebrate the important progress that is being made.
