Reminder: Parables for Modern Times class starts this Saturday

We hope you can join us for the Parables for Modern Times class taught by Ellie Kilpatrick. Class will be held the next four Saturdays from 10am-12pm, in the back lounge. We know things are busy, and it’s fine if you can’t make all the sessions.

The dictionary defines a parable as;

  1. a short allegorical story designed to illustrate or teach some truth, religious principle, or moral lesson.
  2. a statement or comment that conveys a meaning indirectly by the use of comparison, analogy, or the like.

Do parables from the Bible and other sources have relevance in today’s troubling times under the Trump administration?  Are there parables we could tell others to help show why siding with love is more important than ever?

We hope to see you at one (or more) of the Saturday classes!

Join Ellie as we read and discuss parables from different traditions, and how to understand them in today’s landscape. We will also learn to write our own parables and sacred lessons that connect with the world we live in.  Registration appreciated, drop-ins welcome.
