I am happy to share with you that we finally have a functioning dishwasher in our kitchen. Thank you to the many people who had a hand in getting it replaced. For better or for worse, it was truly a community effort. So, we now have both a functioning dishwasher and a newly remodeled kitchen. Please come by and check it out. Bring on the holidays!
The BoT has met several times over the last couple of months to refine some strategic priorities for our organization. One of these efforts is to better facilitate coordination among all the various UUFRC committees and to evolve the group that we now call the Council of Committee Chairs into a more purposeful, value-providing resource for committees and the larger UUFRC. This is not an effort to manage committees, but one to provide better support and encouragement for those committees to do what those committees are motivated to do.
Another effort is to reinvigorate our outreach and integration into the larger community. This effort includes (but is not limited to) other UU churches, other religious organizations, and secular organizations in the area. This may be in the form of one-to-one connections with other organizations by members of the BoT or support for other UUFRC committees already engaging in wider community interactions.
If you are interested in helping with these initiatives or providing your ideas, please grab the ear of any of the BoT Members.
With hope for the future and appreciation of efforts given,
Bob Holden
President – UUFRC Board of Trustees
