Fools Mission teams up with the San Mateo County Health Promotion Unit to screen an award-winning documentary video produced by the San Jose Mercury News. This 30-minute video traces the struggle of a San Mateo family to stay together after their breadwinner dad is deported and their mom finds herself in removal proceedings herself. In the words of the Mercury News, “As the nation debates illegal immigration in the abstract, a Bay Area family lives the raw anguish of deportation and the intense fight to stay together.”

The main character in the story, mom Macrina Mota, will be present to update her story to the present day and field questions. All members and friends of UUFRC are invited to attend.
