Join us for a party to thank all the SF Peninsula volunteers and welcome new participants in “Reclaim Our Vote,” a national nonpartisan initiative involving the NAACP, the Center for Common Ground and Black Voters Matter. Spearheaded by Andrea Miller in Virginia, the project focuses on contacting voters of color in voter-suppression states who are being purged from the voter rolls, to let them know how they can register and vote. The project made 253,000 phone calls last fall, including 185,000 calls to Georgia, 29,000 calls to Mississippi, and 19,000 calls to Virginia. In 2019 the focus will include Virginia (which has elections in November 2019), Florida (where 1.4 million ex-felons are eligible to register to vote due to a new initiative passed by voters), and Georgia. Please come and find out more. We welcome your attendance, even if your goal for the evening is simply to learn more about what we accomplished in 2018. Andrea Miller will join us by Skype. All are welcome!
