The UUFRC Silent Auction is the Fellowship’s biggest event of the year and one of the most important fundraisers for the fellowship. The evening offers socializing with fellow UUFRC people, food, drink, and DJ music and dancing at the conclusion of the bidding portion of the evening. Child-care is offered on-site as well. Furthermore, many of the donated items are dinners, excursions and activities hosted by fellow UUFRC attendees throughout the following year that give winners the opportunity to spend quality time with each other all year round.

And this year, we have a very special theme- “1969”. 1969 was a year of firsts- 1st human landed on the moon, the Summer of Love (Woodstock), The Beetles record their final album together-Abby Road, Golda Meir becomes the 1st woman Prime Minister of Israel, The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) is established, Sesame Street premiered, average annual income is $8,550.00, average cost for a new house is $15,550.00, ansd gas was $.35/gallon. The world changed in “1969”. A perfect theme for the UUFRC 2018 Annual Auction.

We need YOU to make the event a success!  This is an event which “takes a village”. Here’s how:

1. Purchase tickets to attend: Auction advance tickets are on sale every Sunday through Sunday, October 14 in the Social Hall after services. $25/adult and $5/child. After October 14, prices go up- $40/adult and $6/child.

And for those of you who are not able to attend, fear not—we do have proxy bidders who will do your bidding for you to secure the sought after spots in events or items of your choosing! Please contact Amy Shaw to secure your proxy bidder.

2. Donate Auction Items: All the silent auction items are donated by people within the Fellowship in one of six categories: Food & Wine Items, Meals & Fellowship Get-Togethers, Non-Food Physical Items & Unique Offerings, Outings & Experiences, and Services & Personal Development. Donations can be submitted online by clicking Here. We will also have donation form available every Sunday at the Auction Ticket table.

3. Volunteer to help out: We need leads and team members for a number of areas from decorating and making to desserts to manning the bar and clean-up.  Some volunteers are needed before, during, and after the event. The link to sign up is Here
