Our Whole Lives (OWL) Human Sexuality Program
OWL is comprehensive human sexuality curricula developed jointly by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ.

The program provides participants with accurate, age-appropriate information in six subject areas: human development, relationships, personal skills, sexual behavior, sexual health, and society and culture.
It helps participants make informed and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior. Grounded in a holistic view of sexuality, OWL provides not only facts about anatomy and human development, but helps participants to clarify their values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.
Both youth and parents frequently describe the program as an invaluable gift that is helpful, fun, transformative, and safe. See https://www.uua.org/re/owl for additional information on OWL.
Our Whole Lives (OWL) Programming
UUFRC has not been holding in-person, on-site worship services, meetings, or classes since March 2020 due to COVID-19. For safety and privacy reasons, OWL programs cannot be held online. UUFRC will resume offering OWL once in-person classes can be held safely. We anticipate offering OWL classes starting in winter 2022.
There are four levels of children’s and youth OWL classes available. We will offer the following classes based on the number of children and youth who fall into these age cohorts:
OWL for kindergartners and 1st graders
OWL for 5th to 6th graders
OWL for 7th to 9th graders
OWL for 10th to 12th graders
Often there is room in the classes for community members beyond UUFRC members and friends.
For questions or more information, please contact the Interim Director of Youth and Family Programming, Lillian Svec.
