Become a Member
When you’re ready, strengthen your commitment to the search for truth and meaning.
The path to membership is a different journey for each of us. We encourage you to take time to get to know us by attending services regularly and by participating in any of our activities, events, and classes here at the Fellowship. They are open to all who are searching for a spiritual home.
Take Our Membership Classes
If UUFRC and this faith have come to hold special significance in your life, we would love to have you become a member of the Fellowship. Before signing our Membership Book, we ask that you participate in two classes to gain a deeper understanding of Unitarian Universalism, our Fellowship, and what membership means.
Several times a year, we offer the following two classes for those considering membership:
Who Are We? UU History Basics
Our class is an overview of our Unitarian Universalist roots and history, taught by our minister, Rev. Brian. We are a long-lived faith founded on radical ideas, including rejection of the Christian trinity (hence: Unitarian) and belief in universal salvation (Universalism). Come and learn more about how our liberal faith has grown and evolved.
Becoming a Member
The objective of our second class is to help you get to know us in depth. We discuss our own Fellowship history, how and why to get involved, our structure, communication, and the meaning, benefits, and responsibilities of membership.
Both classes are two hours long, and are held on Sundays, following the service, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. A light lunch is available, as is childcare if needed.
You may check the upcoming events for class dates or you may contact our Connections Coordinator, Jen Gill. She invites conversation and questions about membership at any time, so please don’t be shy about asking.
Sign Our Membership Book and Celebrate with Our Ingathering Ceremony
You are welcome to sign our Membership Book at any time after taking these two classes.
Several times a year, we hold an Ingathering Ceremony during a Sunday service to introduce and celebrate our new members. It’s a very special occasion and includes candle lighting, a spoken covenant with the congregation, photos and a celebratory cake for everyone following the service.
