Change of Venue! Theater of the Oppressed workshop May 6, 1 – 5pm

OUR LOCATION HAS CHANGED! Due to a scheduling mixup, we will hold our Theatre of the Oppressed workshop on May 6 at the County Health System building in San Mateo:

Theatre of the Oppressed with Jiwon Chung
Sunday, May 6, 2018, 1:00 to 5:00 PM
San Mateo County Health System
Please mark your calendar with this change—everything else is the same as before, and there is plenty of parking in the adjacent lot.
The flyer has been updated with the correct location, and you can download it at Please share with your network of family and friends.
Even if you aren’t a “Registration” kind of person, please visit our Eventbrite page and share on social media. This is how we pull together as a community to explore new psychologies of liberation and protect vulnerable immigrant families:

Fooling forward as if nothing happened <;^)
We will learn improvisation skills, hear heart-centered stories, build community and trust, and learn how to create a non-aggressive, non-exploitative world. Immigrants and citizen allies will come together to explore what it means to show up for each other and protect vulnerable families as we use role play and people’s theatre to practice “rapid response” scenarios and learn nonviolence skills.

Please dress comfortably for movement. Child care and snacks will be provided, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds. The workshop will have prompt translation from English into Spanish.

And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts.”
