Board of Trustees Monthly Update 2022-08

Hello, UUFRC community.

Your BoT would like to share what we have been up to in August.  The new BOT is off and running, and we had two meetings in August to get a running start on the Church Year.

The annual Board Retreat was held on August 13th in Dick Edminster’s lovely yard. Continuing and new BoT members did some team building activities to get to know each other better. We also had some deep conversations about how to help guide the Fellowship with coming back together, nourishing and nurturing each other. As Rev. Brian mentioned in his first August service, this Church Year feels like a new beginning in many ways. Probably the biggest new thing we are trying is Action Sundays, slated to begin on September 25. The BoT is excited about the Action Sunday plan and is committed to help make it successful to support our community through this change.

During the regular BoT meeting in August, in anticipation of “Belonging”, which is the theme for this current month, we reviewed a plan from the Connections Committee focusing on ways to help all community members feel at home at UUFRC.  The BoT also reviewed a draft of the updated COVID Fellowship protocol planned for 9/18 implementation. It has now been shared with the community and the BoT is currently accepting comments and suggestions.  On a happier note, the BoT approved the budget for this year’s Auction. We are very excited to be back together for this live event. Come party with us on October 22 and don’t worry about your silent auction bids, you can continue to bid online the day after the party! And if you have ideas for how to make the Auction even better next year, let us know.

We’d love to hear from you with ideas, questions, opinions on any of the above.  You can reach us at board@uufrc.org.
