Membership Why did you visit the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Redwood City? - Were you looking for a place where you could explore your spiritual identity and where your exploration would be welcomed and encouraged?
- Were you looking for a place where your children could learn about a variety of religions, but not be indoctrinated into a single, limiting, faith?
- Were you looking for a place to discuss the great ideas and problems of society with like minded people?
- Did you want to become involved in community service and social action?
Whatever your reason was, you returned. You found that you were welcome here. You found the group of like minded people that you needed to have in your life. Now it is time to deepen the relationship. Now it is time to take that next vital step on your spiritual path. It is time to make the commitment to yourself, and the people you return to see on Sunday. It is time for membership. We make it easy to consider the step by offering a course we call UU-101. Our minister, Rev. Julia Older teaches it. You will learn a bit about our history, both the history of Unitarian Universalism (we’ve been around for a long time) and the history of our Fellowship. You'll be introduced to our structure, committees, activities, and we'll talk about what it means to be a member. You may learn a bit about yourself as well. You can join at any time, and at least twice a year we hold an “Ingathering of New Members” to recognize those who have joined, and to commit to each other. Please talk with the Chairperson of the Membership Committee, or to Reverend Julia Older for additional information. |
