Members of our community are active in the following organizations.
Peninsula Multifaith Coalition
Founded in 2012, the Peninsula Multifaith Coalition is a group of faith congregations and organizations working together on projects to improve our community. This volunteer led coalition holds or supports several events each year, such as the Peninsula Multifaith Day of Service on MLK Jr. Day, Interfaith Iftar dinner in the summer, and the annual Peninsula Freedom Seder, held in the spring.
Women & Religion
Mission Statement: Unitarian Universalist Women & Religion is dedicated to freeing ourselves, others, and the Earth from traditional, historical, and contemporary oppressive and patriarchal systems. We continue to work together to implement the 1977 UUA Women & Religion Resolution, which calls us to examine and put aside sexist assumptions, attitudes, and language. We extend that work by learning anti-oppressive attitudes, languages, and behaviors.
Vision Statement: Women & Religion nurtures and empowers women to share wisdom and responsibility for our lives, our denomination and our world. As we hear and appreciate each others’ truths, we grow in love and laughter, spirituality and joy. We remember our foremothers and tell our stories. We are dedicated to the liberation of all persons from attitudes of domination and subordination. We will be visible. We will be heard. We will make a difference.
We have a wonderful retreat each spring – check here for details on the next one!
