Social Action Committee (Co-chairs: Nancy Goodban firstname.lastname@example.org Carolyn Chaney email@example.com). The Social Action Committee acts on our commitment to social justice in our community, nation, and world. On behalf of the congregation, we identify efforts that we believe will promote social justice or protect the environment. We take action on those efforts, and encourage members and friends to take action as well. In 2017-2018, the Social Action Committee will continue to be active in the areas of environment and defending democracy, but will have a special focus on immigration, particularly support for undocumented immigrants and refugees from the Americas. This includes participating in and tracking existing efforts, as well as initiating our own efforts. We actively support our Sanctuary Congregation work. The Social Action Committee meets the first Sunday of each month at noon (open to all), and communicates regularly through its own Yahoo Groups email discussion.
