The following are UUFRC’s standing committees. To get involved or for any questions, please contact the chairperson listed. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Adult Religious Education (Chair: open)
Offer educational and experiential classes, activities, and forums to promote our values and enhance our community experience.
Aesthetics (Chair: Lisa Conrad)
Handle interior decorations, furnishings and any other architectural or stylistic aspects of the building.
Building/Maintenance (Chair: Steve Hill)
Ensure all physical aspects of our facility are well maintained.
Caring (Co-Chair: Joanne McMahon and Kathy Voss-Jensen)
Provide meals, transportation and any other emotional or physical assistance for members in need.
Committee on Ministry (Chair: Cal Sloan)
Assists the Minister and members of the congregation as they work together to provide ministry to the congregation.
Finance (Chair: Ralph Humphries)
Provide recommendations on decisions with financial implications, manage the budget and monitor our expenditures.
Green Sanctuary (Chair: Debbie Mytels)
Promote policies and practices that minimize our impact on the environment.
Grounds (Chair: Michael Withers)
Care for our gardens and landscape areas.
Connections/Membership (Chair: Sarah Skovlund)
Welcome guests and new members into our community.
Ministry of Culinary Arts, MOCA (Chair: Annie Tate)
Organize and prepare celebration meals and provide food at fellowship events.
Music (Co-Chairs: Jennifer Bahr-Davidson and John Anning)
Works with the Music Director to plan and carry out musical offerings at services and plan special concerts.
Newsletter (Editor: Susan McBain)
Publish Redwood Reachout, our monthly newsletter.
Peninsula Interfaith Action, PIA (Chair: Leslie Vallerga)
Interfaith social action group strengthening bonds between congregations and communities and addressing funding inequities in Redwood City schools.
Personnel – Sub committee of the Board of Trustees (Chair: Janette Rabin)
Address personnel issues related to UUFRC staff.
Children’s Religious Education (Chair: Caroline Mitchell)
Aid the spiritual development of our children through exploration of our UU values and heritage, as well as those of other faith traditions.
Social Action (Co-Chairs: Carol Cross and Kaye Bonney)
Participate in projects leading to social justice.
Worship (Chair: David Zarubin)
Assist in preparing and delivering the Sunday services.
Denominational Affairs Committee
We have four elected members who provide a liaison between the congregation and both the Unitarian Univeralist Association and the Pacific Central District, and keep the Congregation apprised of the issues and concerns of the UUA & PCD::
